O M G >>>>>I just found the most amazing quilter, not one of the celebrities, no just an ordinary quilter like you and me!! I discoverd her in the Quilting Gallery's Weekly contest. The topic this week is "Flying Geese"! I checked out this weeks quilts and I found Her quilt...WOW!!! Her name is Jennifer Wilkins and the name of her quilt is Flying Free. here is what she said about her quilt on the contest page!!
By: Jennifer Wilkins, Australia
Pieced [not applique] from a design by Caryl Bryer Fallert, I used silver & shocking pink lame fabrics to add some extra zing, and am particularly pleased with the quilted swan and embroidered feather designs. Free motion feather quilted by me on a domestic sewing machine. The geese are silver lame.
Quilt size: width: 32" height: 32"
Now can you believe THAT!!!! Quilted on a domestic machine !!!!!!
Anyway she does not have a blog and most people who sign up for this contest , can lobby for their quilt to be voted on , so when I saw this quilt...I just decided I would search for her on Facebook, become her friend and ask if I could lobby for her!!!! I love Curved flying Geese, am planning to take classes to design my own next year with Gail Garber. So please go to Quilting Gallery and vote.... for Flying Free,if you think it's the best! If you comment here and let me know you voted , and sign up as a follower. You will be entered into a giveaway for a cute little surprise!!!

My house looks like a cyclone hit it!!! I have swap blocks everywhere...from a swap I organized on facebook, a signed block swap!!! Tomorrow my two friends marylynn and Irene are coming by to help me organize everything!!! In the middle of it all we decided to paint our dining area......I loved the brick red but it just made everything so dark....the "fisherman's net" is going to be so much better!!
Have you seen this???? It's a White mechanical pencil from Fons and Porter. If you don't already have one, run out and get one right away!!! They are amzing!!! I bought a dozen, a couple of weeks ago, for my friends , and we're all in love with them!!!!
I love mail. I've been getting way too much though!!! (A swap, I'll tell you about later!!!!) Today I got some fabric I've been wanting for a long time !! I'm so in love with fabric with "words". I bought some "Authentic" and some "Make Life"....and even a little Rural Jardin Charm pack...and it was all on sale!!!
Then I went into town and bought fabrics for my quilt that I'm working on!! Great day!!!
This is a picture of my post and beam house, we did the kitchen painted the cupboards a couple years ago, and even though I like the colour of the dining area, (red) I think I wnat to paint it lighter..OH NO!!! Have to make new Romans too. We tried aqua and country blue but it just doesn't work...so I decided on "Fisherman's Net"...LOL...we'll see how that looks!!!
Well boy did I have a wonderful day out with friends at the RA Center in Ottawa. We went to the annual Quilt Show.
