Hearts at Home
Have you heard of the  Gum Tree Designers. They are a group of stitchery designers from Australia. What an inspirational group! They have a new project called New Beginnings .  (click the highlighted words to read all about it). They are collecting sewing kits for our fellow crafters who've been affected by the devastating floods in Queensland. A small thing to do for the people who share our passion and have lost all.
(We want to collect, and then distribute, a 'New Beginnings' sewing kit for those who need to start over with their craft. We will be posting the kits in bulk to the various quilting groups in each town.)
I wanted to contribute but it didn't seem feasible (with shipping and time restraints)
So what did I do???
I contacted Jennifer Reynolds and told her we'd like to help from over here in Canada, the U.S. and maybe even U.K.
All you have to do is click on the donate button on the upper right above. The minimum donation is $5.50. After you donate, come back here and leave a comment telling me which one of the patterns you would like free and I'll send the pdf file to you!!! (Please allow 24 hours ) Easy Peasy!!! Let's show the Ozzie girls that we want to help our fellow crafters. Fellow bloggers , please spread the word so we can really make this successful! I think I can even send you the donate button!!!
Here's a list of the patterns and their designers.

You are amazing Ruth to think of such a great idea.
I'd like the birdhouse ruler pattern please - and no rush cause it will take me months to actually do it. Corinne

First of all, I love your blog title!! What an imaginative play on words. Very clever!! Secondly, I thank you for taking the ball and running with it! I've been waiting for the info on making a donation since, like you, I thought it a better idea than to ship to Australia. I wouldn't have known where to start or how to do it and I'm proud that you have set this up. (I'm a part-time Canadian, 6 months a year.ksdoolittle). And lastly, I'd like a copy of Jenny's Hearts at Home pattern. I have so many of Jenny's patterns, they are in their own binder!!! Happy New Year to you, and thank you for doing this. ~karen

Hi Ruth- Thanks so much for setting this up with Jenny and her fellow Gum Tree Designers, As a fellow Canadian I really wanted to help these fellow crafters, too. I would like the Birdhouse ruler tote. Now back to getting a couple of sewing kits done and in the mail.

Hi Ruth, I'd love to put the donate button on my blog. I'm so limited in the help I can give - and I want to help so badly! You can email me at alliehomeschool [at] yahoo [dot] com.

I've been through a flood myself when I was 8. Luckily we were on high ground. The devastation surrounded us for months. It's the little pleasures that get us through the bad stuff. Hopefully my small donation can help bring the light back into the life of one of our sisters or brothers. Thank you for finding a way for those of us in the US and Canada to help. Please send the birdhouse ruler pattern.

I would appreciate the tulip in bloom pattern. Thank you so much for pattern and giving us an opportunity to help in a small way. Nola
