Accuquilt Go Overload

I don't know if I'm the only one, but frankly......I'm on Accuquilt Go Overload!!!
A first it was okay but frankly, I enjoy going to Quilters blogs and reading what they're doing...but this is just TOO much!!! Every second blog is sponsoring a giveaway...of course they get the Units from Accuquilt , free so we don't have to be brain surgeons to figure it out!!!! It's all about Accuquilt getting these EVERYWHERE!!!  Everybody and his brother has a Giveaway and it just keeps going on and on.....when are they going to stop pushing them in  our faces?? I'm sure it's a lovely item, but I don't want to pay that much and I don't want to enter a million giveaways and I don't want to start buying their dies!!!Let's face it they are giving away many many units...and they're not cheap....so let's get everyone wanting them and then they have to buy the "dies"...and they ain't cheap either!!! Me thinks it sounds like the razor blades...you know, sell the shaver cheap and then of course you have to buy the blades Overpriced!! I want to go to a quilters blog and share some fun stuff,  but frankly lately I think big business is taking over the blogs I so enjoyed sharing with. I guess I can say it....Accuquilt is spending their advertising money through blogs...and I think there are some of us who are just sick of it!! I want  Accuquilt to advertise the way other business' do and stop thinking we're so stupid that we don't see a brazen take over of quilting blogs by big business. I guess we just have to say how we feel sometimes and that's my say for today!!!

THANK YOU! My sentiments exactly! May I add to your rant and say I`ve quit buying quilting magazines as well because there are more ads than articles and I`m not in the market for $3000 machine!

Love a good rant. Other blog categories, like candy for instance, get inundated with freebies. It's just so weird to see it happening in quilting and so far it's only one product (that's everywhere!). A backlash is inevitable so the company probably has a plan for that as well.

I'm disabled and would appreciate the Studio version but... for the price, I could pay an actual human to cut my fabrics. lol

I must agree with your post. I am not interested in this product and feel like that is all I read about. It is like changing the channel on the tv and seeing the same commercial every time.

Cutting my fabric is therapy for me. I don't want a machine doing it.

OMG! Ruth, you brilliant, brilliant scholar! It's what I was thinking too!
You know, part of the quilting process is the fabric that is laid out, the feel of the cotton, the first cut of a project....I'm not in a hurry! I'm having the time of my life.....I don't do anything too fancy but just make quilts for the absolute addiction to the whole experience.
Thanks so much for posting this...I'm sure I'm not going to see one of these items at Goodwill or Fabricland....
Good for you for posting this.

totally agree with you, I feel the same about folks sending there quilts for quilting, its a hobby for goodness sake, and having a go at quilting is part of the hobby, who cares if there is a few blips , thats part of the charm,

but thats just me . I like to play with the fabric and learn,

I to have stopped buying as many mags. because of the cost of them, and the machines they advertise..

I just found this entry but I have to say that I cannot agree enough!!! I am tired of seeing it and I cannot believe the expense of it all. Frankly, I would rather spend my money on beautiful fabric :)
